New DODGE Dodge Durango vs. Toyota Highlander | Cueter CJDR for Sale in Ypsilanti, MI

The new Dodge Durango available at Cueter Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram comes in six fantastic trim models: SXT, SXT Plus, GT, Citadel, R/T, and SRT. If we’re keeping score—and we are—that’s one trim level better than the Toyota Highlander. (The Highlander is available in LE, LE Plus, XLE, SE, and Limited trim levels.) But going deeper than the available trims, we see that the Durango has considerably more horsepower and torque compared to the Highlander. The Dodge boasts 290 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque to the Toyota’s 185 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. That’s a big difference in power. And when it comes to storage space, the Dodge Durango can pack up to 83.7 cubic feet more than the Highlander. Dodge Journey

Mom On Wheels : 2018 Dodge Journey

2018 Dodge Journey I can't lie, being a huge Chrysler Pacifica fan (and a fan of vans in general), I was pretty excited to test out the new 2018 Dodge Journey. Driving the Dodge Journey was very comfortable to say the least. Besides the comfortable seats and the very easy to use infotainment system, the Dodge Journey’s ride was very, very smooth. My drive to work is over 50 minutes in heavy and medium traffic, so I did enjoy the simplicity of the dashboard, as well as having a tight ride with good maneuverability. That’s a big change from driving a van – but without losing all of the extra space. For me, weekends are packed with shopping for the holidays, shopping to fill our new home, as well as our weekly grocery trip to Kroger and Costco. Costco sampling and shopping on the weekends.... the best by the way. The storage in the Dodge Journey along with the cargo space was super helpful. Not only does the second and third row fold all the way down flat (perfect for bigger items), but there is 1.6 gallon floor storage bins behind each front seat and one under the passenger seat. We were able to fit everything in the back of the Dodge Journey in only one trip! You get a lot for your money with the Dodge Journey. With great MPGs, lots of cargo space, third row seating, great maneuverability, and a sleek crossover look, this is a great vehicle for the on-the-go, stylish mom - without breaking the bank. -Cueter Jaz

Woman standing beside a Dodge Durango

Mom On Wheels : Dodge Durango

Mom On Wheels (Jazmin Peck) With The All New Dodge Durango This Months Featured Vehicle Is the 2017 Dodge Durango.  I was very happy to have the Durango this weekend since I was transportation for my 13 year old son and his friends to a sneaker convention. The third row seating made it super easy to transport the boys while they had their space and we had ours. They were able to control their own temperature and had a lot of fun using the Dual-Screen Blu ray to play videos off of their phones. Not to mention I felt super safe on the road and waiting in traffic knowing the Durango has Blind Spot Monitoring, and advanced breaking technology. UCONNECT vehicle finder was a life saver. It set a  pin point to the Durango and was able to provide directions to the vehicle through navigation on my IPhone. We also wanted to avoid the traffic on the way home. Uconnect allowed me to view traffic in real time, and effortlessly found us a restaurant on the way home. So no fumbling for this mom on this trip. I was happy to hear how impressed the boys were with the powerful V8 of Durango and of course I was very excited about 22 highway mpg. The Variable Valve Timing was kind of a surprise to me at first, but once I realized it was saving us gas I was really impressed with how well it actually worked. Since Jayden and I do a lot of up north trips in the summer and considering budget,  I feel like this would be a great, Comfortable, affordable option for us.

Mom On Wheels with the 2017 Jeep Cherokee

This month’s featured car is the Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4×4!  I have to say, this has been one of my favorites to drive so far.  With all the luxuries of the Grand Cherokee but in a smaller package.  The Cherokee Latitude is sleek looking on the outside and incredibly comfortable on the inside.  My favorite feature, since it was so cold this past week was the heated seats and heated steering wheel which almost felt instant once I started the vehicle up. The satellite radio and giant touch screen is another perk as well as the crystal clear back up camera.  This vehicle definitely lives up to the brand Jeep because it can adapt to any and all drivers.  With 4 different driving modes, the Cherokee can conquer any terrain from Auto for everyday conditions, to Snow, Mud and Sport.  I was able to drive this beauty for a week and averaged 24MPG.  If you’re looking for a fuel efficient SUV for everyday driving that also has the ability to pack the punch of an off-road vehicle that is JEEP then I highly recommend the Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4×4.

Mom On Wheels With The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

This month’s feature is the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L.  After taking the Pacifica home for a few days, I have a whole new outlook on mini vans.  The stigma around vans should cease to exist; it wasn’t slow and its sleek new style boosts the “cool factor.”  As a mom always on the go, one of my favorite things about this vehicle is although it’s big and spacey, it is also light which enables a pretty big boost when accelerating. The inside looks like a beautiful blue rocket ship at night (my son Chase’s choice of wording J ).  He also enjoyed being able to stand up completely in the second row.  This beauty has leather heated seats, an 8.4 inch touchscreen (another favorite feature.. especially when using the back-up camera!  Crystal clear picture!), and seats up to 8 passengers. The drive is smooth and precise.  I didn’t notice any pull in any direction and I averaged 25MPG between city and highway driving.  Although all the buttons and gadgets look like you have to be tech savvy to figure out all the functions, it is actually very user friendly and simple.  As I plan to extend my family, a Chrysler Pacifica may be in my future!

Celebrate The Holidays

Cueter Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Celebrate The Holidays in 2016

It’s been a magical December so far. Cueter Chrysler had the pleasure of serving as a sponsor of St. Joseph’s Holiday Ball to help make life-changing differences for patients in need of comprehensive Behavioral Health Services (BHS) through coordinated care from support to diagnosis to treatment. Behavioral Health (including mental health and substance abuse) was identified by patients and community as one of three most pressing issues affecting their lives. Mental health can affect persons of any race, age, religion and socioeconomic status. The support for this year’s Holiday Ball will enhance care through innovative programs that improve access to behavioral health services, promote recognition of mental health symptoms; provide expert diagnosis and treatment; address mental health crises; and avoid costly ER visits and inpatient stays. It was a beautiful evening as we celebrated the funds raised as we sailed away on an Enchanted Voyage aboard The Queen Mary and Cueter Chrysler is fortunate to have been part of such a wonderful cause. With the spirit of giving amongst us and our generous community members, we’ve been able to gather donations for the 3 families we’ve adopted this holiday season. If you would like to donate towards these families’ wish lists, there is still time! We are taking donations up until December 22nd. You can drop off any gifts or monetary donations at Cueter Chrysler; ask for Abby Sayo. Please feel free to contact me with any questions at 734-434-2424 or email me at Asayo@cueterchrysler.com. I and everyone at Cueter Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram wish you and your family a wonderful and happy holiday!

How To Test Drive Your Vehicle in Ann Arbor

Check Your Car Compatibility with 10 Test-Drive Tips If warmer days and shorter nights have you yearning for a new vehicle and an open road, you’re not alone. New car and truck sales are expected to top 16.7 million this year, up 14 percent since 2006 according to J.D. Power & Associates, but before you join the ranks of new vehicle ownership, check out your potential investment, inside and out. Cars and trucks are typically your second largest investment, behind your home. Come to Cueter Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Ypsilanti, MI to test drive your next vehicle. 2448 Washtenaw Ave, Ypsilanti MI 48197. Use these 10 tips to determine if a vehicle could be right for you: 1) Comfort & Confidence –You’re going to spend a lot of time in the seat, so make sure it feels right. Does it hit the back of your legs comfortably and do you feel in control when you sit in it? Practice looking over your shoulder like you would when driving in reverse. 2) Safety –Let’s start with visibility. Can you see out the windows, or are you hampered by blind spots? Pillars can create a challenge. Pillars are the space between the front windshield and the front-row windows, or the front-row windows and second-row windows. If a make or model is not working for you, try a different one. You should also be able to see the instrument panel easily, without taking your eyes off the road. 3) Reach – It goes without saying that you should be able to reach the gas and brake pedals easily, but you should also be comfortable reaching the dashboard controls and the steering wheel. 4) Road Noise – Multi-tasking has become a personal and professional necessity, which means a lot of us are taking calls on the road. If that describes you, you’ll want to make sure your conversations aren’t drowned out by noise from the tires, the engine or air flow over the vehicle. 5) Fit & Finish – This is a different kind of noise. These are the rattles, pops and squeaks that occur naturally, especially in pre-owned vehicles. Each of us has a noise threshold. Doesn’t it make sense to find that defining line before buying a vehicle you’re committing to financially? 6) Braking – Your end goal is a smooth stop, which should be achieved by stepping on the brake pedal with increasing pressure. If you feel pulsing, the vehicle may need work. 7) Front-end Issues – Take the vehicle to an empty lot and see if it can follow a semi-straight line driving slowly, hands-free. A gradual pull to the left or right may not be a problem, but a hard pull could be a red flag. 8) Transitions – The shift in gears when a car accelerates and decelerates should be relatively quiet. 9) Trying All Options – While most people are not schooled in the sounds of potential car problems, anyone can check to make sure the options are working. This means the radio, temperature controls, windows, 4-Wheel Drive, the parking brake…all of it. 10) Tech Compatibility – Believe it or not, phones don’t always sync with a vehicle’s Bluetooth function. If that compatibility is important to you, verify a sync before buying the vehicle. These tips can apply to all cars and trucks, whether they are new, pre-owned or demo vehicles.

Consumer Safety Rides in Part on Tire Awareness - Cueter Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram

Consumer Safety Rides in Part on Tire Awareness - Cueter Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram When jumping into a vehicle with newer looking equipment, it’s fair to say that most of us expect things to be in good working order. Too bad that is not always the case. News outlets across the country have shown that looks can be deceiving when it comes to tires. They may look brand new with untouched tread, but they can still be capable of causing an accident. That’s why we need to take the initiative for our safety by asking the right questions. Here’s the issue: Tires have a shelf life of six years, and then the rubber and cord body begin to break down. Yet, there are a lot of retail stores and service centers around the country, big box and small independents, that sell tires manufactured before 2009 because the tires have never been used.* It’s illegal in Michigan to sell those old tires, and the seller as well as the manufacturer can be charged with a misdemeanor and fined $500, but it’s not usually enforced unless there is a tire blow out and investigation, like in the case of Fast and Furious star, Paul Walker. He died in a car accident last year because of high speeds and nine-year-old tires. Here’s the solution: We need to know our tires’ DOT numbers (a.k.a. the manufacturing number required by the U.S. Department of Transportation). The 4-digit code is on the side of every tire so it seems simple enough, until you try looking for it. Unfortunately, it’s on the side of the tire that faces the underside of the vehicle so unless you have a hoist to lift the vehicle, or you see the DOT numbers before the tire goes on the rim, you may be out of luck. If YOU DO get a chance to see the numbers, it’s easy to read. The first two digits reflect the week, the second two reflect the year. So if your tire shows 4812, it was made in the 48th week of 2012. A call-to-action has been placed to the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration to require DOT numbers on the outside wall as well as the inside wall of tires, but all the states still have to get onboard. Until that day, the duty to keep us safe belongs to us. In the meantime, there is legislation pending in half a dozen states seeking to raise the punishment for selling old tires to a felony level, which would bring larger fines and possible jail time. Here’s what you can do now: Aside from knowing your DOT numbers, there is another measure you can take to increase the odds of getting road-worthy tires. Use suppliers that do business with car dealerships because they are held to stricter standards. Tires are rated on four levels: Speed, Weight Bearing, Traction and Temperature. The NHSTA requires retailers to pay attention to speed and weight bearing ratings when selling a tire, but dealership technicians are more inclined to also consider traction and temperature because they know road salt, cold weather and tire cleaners can all speed up the breakdown of rubber and cord body. It’s why we try so hard to put you in what came original on your vehicle. I think of it like a sports team. It’s the coaches job to set the team up for greatness so they win every time, rather than setting the team up for what they can get based on the cost. * As shown on Good Morning America, The Today Show and 20/20.
